Archie is a big example of of daring the universe. He is supposed to back up Brother Leon in selling the chocolates, but decided to make an assignment involving Renault not selling chocolates for ten days. Renault on the other hand, he is sort of daring the Vigils by exceeding the number of days not selling chocolates. Obie is concerned about Renault making the Vigils look bad, so the Vigils might get back at Renault. "Dare I Disturb the Universe" overall means going against what needs done such as a task, rule, or well self-being.
Archie gives all these assignments that hurt mentally and physically students, teachers, and organizations of the school. Renault is out doing most of the assignments given to him by the Vigils, but still sometimes even doing wrong himself by not selling the chocolates. Obie is Archie's little "boy" by being the secretary of the Vigils and feeding on to assignments given out by the Vigils, but not being totally the definition of the quote.
All together, these three people Renault, Obie, and Archie describe "Dare I Disturb the Universe". They all go against rules, but Obie would be the least like the quote because he does everything told. They are all three in the Vigils though and disturb the school as a whole making everything horrible for everybody.
